Every Dog Has Its day

26 June 2009

After being featured in The London Paper this week, FQR’s travel editor gives the scoop on her media-savvy dog’s high-flying London life

Media savvy Alf

Alf has travelled extensively since he was acquired for £60 from a council estate in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, at 4 months old. He had stayed in castles in Scotland, the presidential suite of the Four Seasons in Hampshire (where he was presented with his own ceramic dog bowls by a butler), and counts Warwickshire, Devon, and Yorkshire amongst the many counties he has ventured to. He excercises in Richmond or Wimbledon – never Tooting Common where he lives, as its too rough for him.  He has not gone abroad as he would prefer to go by train and Eurostar won’t allow dogs out of the car, which to him is unacceptable. So, he enjoys the green green grass of home instead as there is much to sniff and lift a leg against. He travels with a tarten rug from The Conran Shop and a matching tartan fleece lined basket from Tooting High Street ‘Mutt Menagerie’, where he is a frequent and loyal customer. He is currently single and a father of six (three of them accidental).
