The Journey

range-roverThe day before the shoot. Final preparations. Special deliveries include a consignment of Reverso’s from Jaeger LeCoultre delivered by ever chic Dorothee Eloy and a 2010 Range Rover LR-TDV8. What a sexy and dynamic package , don’t ya think? The Rangie (of course), has all manner of eco perks added. Never mind the ecology, when you get inside one you know what the attraction is all about. Extraordinarily comfortable and bristling with technology, you can take this baby backward down a tight passage at night without even looking up from the reverse cam’ display. Perching neatly on comfortable ivory leather lounge chairs, the raw yet controlled surge of power is exhilarating. The virtual dial display is special too: old school dial readout projected directly into your brain. Feels a little bit Top Gun at times, and I do still think maps have their merits. Travel Taverns, however, do not. While aspirations remain high for The Rake, the budget is a tad low after Minh’s demands for extravagant HMI lighting and a golf cart to travel round the grounds while shooting. Bloody photographers. He’ll be wanting paying next. I can’t believe I’ve come this far in life to stay in a Travel Tavern. I wonder what the dress code is for dinner?
